Martin Tobies

Martin Tobies has been a partner at Kessel & Kessel GmbH since the beginning of 2017. He has worked as a consultant focusing on restructuring/reorganization, turnaround, financing, M&A and employee management in large financial institutions and medium-sized business consultancies in various locations such as Munich, London and Hamburg.

Martin has been responsible for different teams/departments in the financial sector for more than sixteen years. During this time he worked with Kessel & Kessel on joint projects, where he developed his special expertise in combining restructuring with participative methods. During his time as a manager, his activities shifted from structuring international financing to restructuring and reorganizing various corporate client engagements. He has been responsible for the reduction of non-performing loan commitments in the area of medium-sized corporate clients. He took over the management of a bank-owned investment company, which aimed among other things at successful sales from investments. And he also consults on request about operational responsibility (e.g. assumption of executive positions), restructuring and change processes for medium-sized companies.

Martin is a business graduate and studied Business Administration at the University of Siegen and the Philipps University in Marburg. He has also been trained as an Advanced Negotiator® at the Schranner Negotiation Institute in Zurich, Switzerland. In addition, Martin Tobies has acquired a certificate as a Restructuring Advisor (Bank) at the IfUS Institute at the SRH University of Applied Sciences in Heidelberg.
